🏈 Homecoming Recap: Dooly County vs. Wheeler County

Date: Friday, September 19, 2025

This past Friday, the Dooly County Bobcats hosted the Wheeler County Bulldogs for our much-anticipated Homecoming 2025 celebration.

Despite the energy and excitement surrounding the event, the Bobcats fell short in a tough 50-9 loss. Quarterback Seven Sutton threw for 131 yards and connected for one touchdown to Jayvion Sanders. Jamonte Taylor led the receivers with 53 yards.

The loss brings Dooly County’s record to 0-4, but the season is far from over. Looking ahead, the Bobcats will hit the road this Friday to take on Montgomery County at 7:30 p.m. The timing could be in our favor, as the Eagles are currently riding a four-game losing streak.

Bobcats in the Lab! 🍓🔬 Even though it’s Homecoming Week, our students are still hard at work and fully engaged in learning. In Biology, students conducted a DNA extraction lab with strawberries—a hands-on, student-led activity that required them to carefully follow directions and work together. It’s always exciting to see our Bobcats leading their own learning while making science come alive! 🧪🐾 #DCHSHomecoming #BobcatPride #HandsOnLearning #StudentLed

Bobcats Show Fight in Home Opener, Fall Short Against Irwin County

On Friday, September 12, 2025, the Dooly County Bobcats hosted the Irwin County Indians for our first home game of the season. Despite a strong performance, the Bobcats fell 21-12 in a hard-fought contest.

The Bobcats actually outgained the Indians by 96 total yards, but unfortunately, that advantage didn’t translate into points on the scoreboard. Still, there were bright spots — especially from our senior leaders.

Senior Standouts:

Seven Sutton rushed for 57 yards and scored one touchdown on just seven carries.

Antavious Hunter added 43 yards on the ground and also found the end zone .

Though the result wasn’t what we hoped for, the effort and energy were undeniable.

Next week marks Homecoming Week, and the Bobcats are fired up for their first in-conference matchup of the season as they welcome Wheeler County to “The Grove” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Let’s pack the stands and show out for our team!

A HUGE thank you to our fans, students, staff, cheerleaders, and band for the incredible support during Friday’s Blackout Game. Your energy made a difference — you truly made Bobcat Nation proud!

Next Week: HOMECOMING!
Next Game: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Wheeler County
📍 The Grove – Vienna, GA
