**This week's Dooly Legacy is Mr. Marcus Bryant**, CTAE teacher at Dooly County High School leading the Audio Visual pathway!

Mr. Bryant is a proud Dooly County graduate who returned home to equip students with real-world skills for the 21st century. In his Audio Visual pathway, he's teaching students how to tell stories through media, master technical production, and build careers in one of the fastest-growing industries today.

He's not just teaching theory—he's giving our students hands-on experience that prepares them for immediate opportunities after graduation. Mr. Bryant knows the value of career-focused education because he walked these same halls, and now he's ensuring our students graduate with purpose and direction.

🐾 Tonight's Board of Education meeting was FULL of special recognition, and we are so proud! 💙 First, we honored the **Dooly Retired Educators Association** for being one of our strongest and most steadfast partners. No matter the need, you show up for our students and community — and we are incredibly grateful! We also took a moment to recognize our **retiring faculty members** who are closing out remarkable careers at the end of this school year. Your dedication, sacrifice, and lasting impact on our students will never be forgotten. Thank you for your service! 🎉👏 🏀 Congratulations to **DCHS basketball player JaKayla Hooks** on her **All-State honors**! You've made Dooly County proud! 🏃 A huge shoutout to our **Track & Field athletes** who have earned their spot at the **state competition**! Way to go Bobcats! 🎾 Our **Tennis Team** also advanced to state — congratulations on qualifying and representing Dooly County at the highest level! ⚽ And a tremendous congratulations to our **DCHS Soccer Teams** for an amazing season and advancing to the **state playoffs**! 🎓✨ Introducing the Dooly County Schools Class of 2026 Valedictorian — Javis Bennett! ✨🎓 Javis has earned more than $3 million in scholarship offers and academic awards from colleges and organizations across the country. He received full-ride scholarship offers from Georgia Southwestern State University, University of Georgia, Bethune-Cookman University, Oglethorpe University, Berry College, and Clark Atlanta University. In addition to these prestigious university awards, he has been selected as a recipient of numerous local and state scholarships, including the Sayra Ambrose Scholarship, Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship, Coes Family Scholarship, Holly Grove Baptist Church Scholarship, and the Two Brothers and a Dream Scholarship. Javis is also a recipient of the Zell Miller Scholarship, which covers full tuition, as well as the BigFuture Scholarship. Chosen from a pool of more than 61,000 applicants from across the nation, Kaleb is among only 750 students to receive this prestigious honor — placing him among the most exceptional young leaders in America. The Gates Scholarship, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is one of the most competitive and prestigious scholarships in the United States. It is awarded to outstanding minority students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities. Recipients receive full funding to attend the college of their choice, covering unmet financial need through undergraduate graduation.

**This week's Dooly Legacy is Mrs. Freda Small**, elementary teacher focused on career exploration at Dooly County K8 Academy!

Mrs. Small is a proud Dooly County graduate who came back home to open doors and expand possibilities for our youngest learners. Through career exploration, she's helping elementary students dream big, discover their interests, and see themselves in futures they may have never imagined.

She plants seeds of ambition early, showing our students that their potential is limitless—whether they want to be doctors, engineers, artists, or leaders right here in Dooly County. Mrs. Small understands that when you help children see what's possible, you change the trajectory of their lives.
