Second Grader, Daniel Starnes called the DCSS April School Board Meeting to order, and it was a meeting filled with celebrations! Students and their advisors were recognized for their successes at the Georgia Movie Academy Festival and the Spelling Bee! The school district also celebrated and discussed in greater detail the exciting news and points of success from it's recent highest tier Cognia rating and highest ranking of Accreditation with Quality from the Georgia Accreditation Commission. What an wonderful day celebrating the Dooly County STAR Student, Calandria Holmes, and STAR Teacher, Valencia Bowens, at the Annual Dooly County Chamber and Dooly County Family Connections Luncheon! We are also proud of and congratulate the Dooly County School System Literacy Council and Communities in Schools, Earl Clark, for the recognitions they earned from the Chamber and Family Connections today!! Calling all 8th Graders and your families to Freshman Night at Dooly County High School this Wednesday at 5:30! Come out to meet faculty and staff and receive critical information about scheduling and high school opportunities.


On April 8th, Dooly County students and faculty and staff seized learning opportunities with the solar eclipse! JROTC engaged in making and learning how to use a pin point projector for the eclipse. Other teachers and students discussed the next occurrence being in 30 years and many worked hard to get that coveted photograph. Ms. Lamberth was able to capture it perfectly and worked with others to do the same.








Saturday School is CANCELED for Saturday, March 30, 2024. It will resume on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Have an enjoyable and safe Spring Break!

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024. Invitation letters will be sent for parents to meet on that day as well as alternate days. You may also call the school to schedule a conference if Friday, March 29th is not a good day for you. We look forward to seeing you!!!

8th grade parents are invited to an important meeting at the Dooly County High School, April 10th, 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. The meeting will provide important information for your upcoming Freshmen students.

Come out to DCK8's Annual STEM Night Tuesday, March 26, 2024! Enjoy fun and exciting family experiments with your children. There will be friendly competitions, food, prizes, and giveaways, and a MAJOR surprise that you don't want to miss! See you there!
