We’re proud to announce that State School Superintendent Richard Woods has selected 79 Georgia students from over 1,200 applicants to serve on the 2025–2026 Student Advisory Council. One of them is our very own Dooly County High School student, Elvis Gonzalez!
Throughout the year, these students will meet with Superintendent Woods to provide feedback on state education policies, discuss classroom experiences, and participate in service projects that benefit schools and communities across Georgia. The council allows students to develop leadership skills, engage in service, and make a lasting impact on education statewide.
About Elvis:
Elvis is an 11th grader at DCHS who plans to attend South Georgia Technical College to major in Welding. He has one brother and one sister. In his essay, Elvis shared ideas about bettering schools through community donations and fundraisers, improving the environment, and enhancing technology access, including updated Chromebooks and ClearTouch boards to support modern learning.
We are so proud of Elvis for representing Dooly County with excellence, innovation, and leadership! Congratulations, Elvis. Keep shining and showing what it means to be a Bobcat! #StudentAdvisoryCouncil #GADepartmentOfEducation #ProudBobcat #StudentLeadership #ExcellenceInAction

Week of October 13–18

Week of October 6–11
🏈 Lady Bobcats Flag Football
Versus Hawkinsville
The third road contest was the charm for the Dooly County Lady Bobcats, as they earned their first away win of the season with an 8–0 victory over Hawkinsville on Tuesday.
The Lady Bobcats’ defense was dominant, keeping the Red Devils scoreless and forcing two interceptions, both courtesy of defensive standout Ja’Kayla Hooks. The win improved Dooly County’s record to 1–2.
Versus Turner County & Dougherty County
Winning is always nice, but doing it behind a season-high offensive performance is even better! The Lady Bobcats breezed past the Turner County Titans, 41–0, on Saturday.
Dooly County’s defense made a statement, picking off three passes — one each from Janasia Hamlin, Ja’Kayla Hooks, and Kaleena Cotton. Hamlin also turned one of those interceptions into a defensive touchdown, capping off a complete team effort that brought the Lady Bobcats back to an even 2–2 record.
In their matchup against Dougherty County, the Lady Bobcats fought hard but came up short, falling 13–0 to the Lady Trojans.

Pink Out Night & Recreation Appreciation
Friday night was special at the Bobcat Den as Dooly County celebrated Pink Out Night and Recreation Appreciation! The evening honored Breast Cancer Survivors and recognized the outstanding athletes and coaches of the Dooly County Recreation Department.
Despite a determined effort, the Bobcats fell to Wilcox County, 41–0, as the Patriots’ defense proved tough to crack. Jay’Vion Sanders led the way with six tackles and an interception, while Seven Sutton also tallied six tackles.
The loss moved Dooly County to 1–5 on the season.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our students, staff, cheerleaders, band, and fans for your incredible support. Seeing the stands filled with pink and pride truly made Bobcat Nation shine.
Next up, the Bobcats will travel to Soperton, GA, to face Treutlen High School this Friday at 7:30 p.m. Let’s pack the stands, hit the road, and cheer our team on to a big region win!
