Dooly County High School Students Explore STEM Opportunities at SGTC! 🔬⚙️💻
Our Dooly County High School students recently had the opportunity to participate in the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Summer Bridge STEM Camp, where they joined approximately 60 students from 10 counties across Georgia and two states.
Throughout the experience, students explored exciting educational and career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through engaging, hands-on activities, collaboration, and exposure to industry pathways.
We are proud of our students for taking advantage of this incredible opportunity to expand their knowledge, develop new skills, and prepare for future success. Thank you to SGTC and Chattahoochee-Flint RESA for investing in the next generation of innovators!

🐾 Bobcat Families, the 2026–2027 school year is almost here, and we want to set every student up for SUCCESS from Day 1! Consistent attendance is one of the most powerful things your child can do to reach their full potential — and we're here to make every single day count. 📚✨
As you plan family time this year, take a look at our scheduled breaks — from Fall Break in October to Spring Break in March — so your vacations and appointments can work *with* the school calendar, not against it. Every day your child is in their seat is a day they're growing, learning, and becoming their best.
**Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible. BE HERE.** 🏫💛
Attend today. Achieve tomorrow.

New Semester Grading Policy for 2026–2027 📚
As Dooly County High School transitions to a traditional schedule, we've updated our semester grading policy to better reflect student learning and mastery of course standards.
Each semester will cover a different set of academic standards and will be graded independently. This means students have the opportunity to be successful each semester, and if a semester is not successfully completed, only that semester will need to be recovered—not the entire course.
📄 Please reference the attached flyer for a complete explanation of:
How semesters are structured
How grades are calculated
What "continuous grading" means
Why semester grades are separate
What happens if a student does not pass one semester
We encourage all parents and guardians to review the flyer so you understand how your child's grades will be determined during the 2026–2027 school year.
Thank you for partnering with us to support student success!
