Yes, it summer, but it's full STEAM ahead for Dooly County School System students! From the STEM Bus/Mobile Classroom, Summer Bridge at the High School and 21st Century for K-12 housed at the K-8, students are engaged in experiential learning, honing their academic skills, and expanding their creativity with science, technology, engineering, art and math, as well as literacy. Enjoy a few highlights from the first week of our amazing summer programs including the Summer Book Bash! You will even see teachers getting in on the fun!
This week, the Dooly County School System District Leadership Team and the DC Board of Education met together for an End of the Year Retreat. The first day was instructionally focused with the 2nd day centering around operations. The Board acknowledged the district's accomplishments over the past school year, as they received updates on the system's current strategic plan. It was a great display of shared leadership with an emphasis on collaboration. accountability, and ownership - three essential tenets of "the Dooly Way".

Dooly County School System faculty and staff celebrated the culmination of the 2023 - 24 school year today with the End of the Year Convocation! Dr. Sherrod Willaford, Superintendent reminded staff of the qualities included in the "Profile of a Dooly County Employee" and challenged staff to a standard of excellence in their sphere of influence. At Graduation in Dooly, the village sits first class - on the field facing their graduates!
As this day, Saturday, May 25, 2024, comes to a close, so does this chapter for the Dooly County High Bobcat Class of 2024! However, it is also a great beginning! In the words of Clark Atlanta University Professor, Dr. Daniel Black, "here they come y'all! Here they come! Lawyers, doctors, teachers, nurses, writers, cosmetologist, librarians, mechanical engineers, radiologists, rappers, healers, preachers, sociologist...." Anything and everything is possible! Congratulations scholars!!!

The DCHS Golden Sound of the South "Fun Day in the Park" is still ongoing at Downtown Vienna City Park next to the courthouse. You still have time to purchase hot fish and hot dogs. Donations are also welcome.

Over the last two weeks, we have been honoring our students and their accomplishments.
We are so proud of all of you and the growth you have made this year!! Today, we will reflect on our mission of educational excellence for all students!! We begin with the Bobcat Class of 2024 and their Award Ceremony.
Update: 21st CCLC Summer Program has the following openings for the UPCOMING grade levels. 6th grade - 2, 7th grade - 4, 9th grade - 5, 11th grade - 3, and 12th grade - 5.
