Pick-up Place & Time: Dooly County High School from 10 a.m. to noon (while supplies last). Limit one breakfast & one lunch per child per day. ⚠️ School Closure – Monday, March 16, 2026 ⚠️
After consulting with the Dooly County Emergency Management Agency and other local authorities, and out of an abundance of caution, Dooly County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026, due to the potential for severe weather.
A strong storm system is projected to arrive in our area around 5:00 a.m. and is expected to clear the area around noon. The current forecast calls for widespread damaging winds with gusts of 60–70 mph, along with the possibility of tornadoes and large hail.
Temperatures will drop significantly after the front moves through, so families should plan for freezing temperatures on Tuesday morning and ensure students are dressed appropriately.
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Therefore, all schools will be closed and all athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled for Monday, March 16, 2026.
We encourage everyone to stay weather-aware and take necessary precautions. Any additional updates will be shared through our official district communication channels.

The Dooly County School System will observe Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month this November by honoring the legacy of Ms. Carolyn Brooks. On Thursday, November 20, 2025, we invite the entire school community to participate in 'Bobcats Wear Teal for Carolyn' Day. Ms. Brooks, our cherished former DCHS Assistant Principal and DCSS CEO CCA/CTAE Director, would have celebrated her birthday on November 27th. We encourage everyone to wear teal in remembrance of her extraordinary life and to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.

POSTPONED: The Dooly County High School Battle of the Bands, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, has been postponed. The event will now take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 5:00 p.m
The Dooly County School System will dismiss early on Thursday, September 18, 2025 to prepare for the Homecoming Parade at 4:00 PM in Vienna. Dooly County High School and Dooly K-8 Academy will dismiss students at 2:00 PM. Car riders will pick up in their usual locations.
