Congratulations are in order once again to the Dooly County School System School Board for receiving the Georgia School Boards Association’s (GSBA) 2023 Exemplary School Board recognition. Dooly County School Board also received Exemplary School Board Status in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and they were recognized as a Quality Board in 2019. Ms. Minnie Harper, the Board Chair and veteran educator stated, "We are honored to be recognized as an exemplary school board by the Georgia School Boards Association. We will continue to strive for success."
The recognition program is designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership. GSBA recognizes good school board governance to foster educational community cultures in order to advance student learning and achievement.
The Dooly County School Board met and/or exceeded the criteria set forth by GSBA to earn the honor of a 2023 Exemplary Board. Ms. Sherri Taylor shared that "service is to remove the wants and needs of one’s self and to work or help others to reach their highest potential. As members of the board of education we thrive to ensure that students, teachers, faculty, and stakeholders have what it is that they need for US a unit to be successful.
