Dooly County School System

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Dooly County High School, DCSS Family Engagement, Communities in Schools and Zaxby's hosted a parent and family engagement workshop called   "Putting the Pieces Together for Post Secondary College and Career Options".  Dr. TeShaunda Hannor-Walker, a former school counselor and licensed clinical counselor provided critical information to participants and shared that they are the most critical piece to helping their students graduate and prepare for college, military and/or their future careers.  Other important messages included the significance of words on framing young adults' futures, how fundamental family support is in helping young people become resilient and overcome trauma and obstacles, and finally, that high school does not have to be our students' last story of success.  Participants engaged in several hands on activities to solidify the messages of the workshop. Parents and guardians, including families of 8th grade students were invited to attend.    #ThisisDooly!  #IamDooly! #WeareDooly!
